About the Anne Frank Legacy Museum

The Anne Frank Legacy Museum, located in the heart of Amsterdam, is dedicated to preserving the memory of Anne Frank and her family, and to promoting tolerance, understanding, and respect for human rights. The museum provides a powerful and moving experience for visitors from around the world, offering insight into the life of Anne Frank, the context of the Holocaust, and the importance of fighting discrimination and prejudice today.

Our museum is more than just a historical site; it's a place of learning, reflection, and dialogue. We strive to connect the past with the present, encouraging visitors to consider the lessons of history and to apply them to contemporary issues of injustice and inequality. Through exhibitions, educational programs, and public events, we aim to inspire action and to empower individuals to make a positive difference in their communities and the world.

Founded in 1957 by Johannes Kleiman, a close friend of Otto Frank and one of the helpers who supported the Frank family during their time in hiding, the museum has grown from a small, grassroots organization to a globally recognized institution. Our commitment to historical accuracy, educational excellence, and social responsibility remains at the core of our mission. We work in close collaboration with scholars, educators, and community partners to ensure that our programs are relevant, engaging, and impactful.

The museum's collection includes original documents, photographs, and artifacts related to Anne Frank, her family, and the people who helped them. These items offer a tangible connection to the past, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the human stories behind the historical events. We are committed to preserving these valuable resources and making them accessible to future generations.
